Learn how to regularly publish your short stories, essays, poetry, or flash fiction. Plus, get extensive feedback on your writing, and a list of publishers who may be interested in your work.
Build the Habit of Getting Published With Ella Peary
Few people know the literary publishing market the way Ella Peary does. As a long-time literary journal reviewer and editor at Authors Publish, Ella’s breadth of knowledge about publishing in literary journals is likely unmatched.
For years now, Ella Peary has used her extensive knowledge to guide writers through the process of publication. During that time, Ella has refined a simple system for the entire process of writing, editing, and publishing work.
This course gives you a simple process for going from the blank page to getting your words in print – and it builds the habit of repeating the process, so you can get published again and again.
Based on Ella's experience guiding students to publishing success, this course is packed full of information Ella previously only shared in private meetings and consultations.
By the end of this course you’ll have…
- A complete writing process that begins with the blank page and ends in publication.
- A simple way to make writing and publishing a habit you can joyfully sustain for years to come.
- Resources, tools, and worksheets that help you easily overcome common roadblocks.
- A polished portfolio of work that is ready to publish.
- A list of publishers who may be a good fit for your work, so you can jumpstart the publication process.
Plus, you’ll be welcome to attend future office hour sessions with Ella Peary and all of the instructors at Authors Publish, so you can stay part of our publishing community for years to come. (At no additional cost.)
During this course Ella Peary will give you personal feedback on your writing, a list of publishers who are good fit for your work, and a personal one-on-one consultation – all designed to guide you through the complete process of writing, editing, and publishing your work.
Not only will you receive extensive help getting your writing published, you’ll have a simple blueprint to follow, so you can repeat the process again and again.
Please note, this course is specifically designed to help with publishing shorter forms of writing, including short stories, poetry, flash fiction, and short essays. This type of writing has served as the foundation to larger success for many authors. If you’re focused on getting published, this type of writing is the perfect way to gain momentum.
The course starts on January 15th and ends on February 9th. After the official course dates, participants will have a full six months to complete the course and submit their work for feedback from Ella.
The course is strictly limited to just 15 writers. (No exceptions.) For those interested in participating, you are encouraged to enroll right away.

Read MoreI have taken the last two FF workshops with Ella. As a long-time, older writer, I have learned an entirely new genre of writing, found great satisfaction and joy in it, and learned a tremendous amount about my writing and editing that has informed all of my writing; creative short stories, poetry, even my business letters...crazy but true... I would recommend Ella’s WS to anyone looking to improve their writing. The learning something new is lagniappe.

Read MoreI really loved how this course was put together: from history of flashes, to basic instruction and then diving in deeper with editing techniques. Getting the practical help of how and where to submit also really makes this course super-valuable. Finally, having the sense that the instructor, Ella Peary, was personally interested in my progress has meant so much to me. I appreciated (and admired!) Ella's ability to come at each individual piece with such excellent and sensitive feedback. The writing prompts in the workshop (as well as Ella's additional list of prompts) are another great resource for future writing projects. I didn't use the student message board as much as I could have -- but I noticed that many students did and really enjoyed the feedback and camaraderie. I absolutely recommend this course, in fact -- I might take it again at some point!! - Christina

Ella distills this fiction sub-category down to its essential elements, and gives great examples of how to find and write your flashpoint. A kind, generous and supportive instructor, she offers a specific, hands-on, valuable critique on each piece her students submit. When you are finished, you'll have five flash fiction pieces polished and ready to submit. Go for it, you won't be sorry!

Flash fiction speaks to me in a way that I cannot yet understand; but what I do know is that it fills me. I appreciate Ella's clear guidance in leading me along this path. As well, I valued her help in showing me how to make these stories the best they could be. Editing, finding the flash and eliminating unnecessary material & diversions are still a huge challenge, but I'm launched, and have a much better sense now of ways to proceed.

Read MoreBefore I took this course, I was not even sure I was writing poetry. I knew my poetry was more narrative and less language-based, but that didn't mean that I did not use sharp images and oddly descriptive phrases like other poets did. It was just that I thought my poems often told a story that seemed understandable and were not encoded in images that needed to be interpreted in order to make sense of the product. But I received positive feedback on my writing, encouragement to continue writing, and signals on how to improve my writing. So to make a long story short, two weeks after I had finished the course, I had had two poems accepted by literary magazines. One was going to go online very soon and the other was coming out in a February 2021 issue. I feel my time, energy, and money were used to great advantage in this course, and I would take it again in a heartbeat.
