Become a Published Author of Flash Fiction
Few people know the literary publishing market the way Ella Peary does. As a long-time literary journal reviewer and editor at Authors Publish, her breadth of knowledge about publishing in literary journals is likely unmatched.
When we asked her to lead a writing and publishing workshop for us, she chose one of her favorite forms of writing: Flash fiction, which is "compressed" fiction, usually shorter than 1,000 words.
Not only is writing flash fiction a wonderful way to hone your skill as a writer, there are also many opportunities to get flash fiction published.
The course is scheduled for March 9th to April 3rd. It will be held on our digital learning platform, with daily lessons you can complete on your own time.
The course includes:
- Detailed feedback on your writing from Ella Peary.
- Personal recommendations for publishers who may be interested in your work.
- Four weeks of lessons, feedback, and discussion on the art (and joy) of writing flash fiction.
During this course, you will create a polished portfolio of flash fiction that Ella Peary will help you submit to publishers.
By the end of this class, you will have a portfolio flashes ready for publication, and a list of literary journals where you can submit those pieces for publication. Most importantly, you will have developed a sustainable writing practice that will help you produce and publish flash fiction for years to come.
Because of the intense level of personal feedback offered by Ella, this course is strictly limited to thirty students.
This course is the only way to get this level of direct feedback, training, and consultation from Ella Peary. If you are interested, I encourage you to enroll right now.

Personal Feedback On Your Writing
In addition to the four weeks of training, Ella Peary is generously offering personal feedback on your writing.
During this course, Ella Peary will give you personal feedback on your writing, so that you will complete this course with a polished portfolio that is ready for publication. (Note that work she has edited has gone on to win major awards.)
Ella Peary will also personally recommend publishers she believes are a good fit for your writing. Her extensive experience as the literary journal editor at Authors Publish gives unparalleled knowledge about the many publishing opportunities available for flash fiction.

Should I join this course if I have never written flash fiction?
This course is for writers who want to hone their craft, as well as find new opportunities to get published. It is designed to be accessible to writers new to flash fiction, but it also provides a lot of value for those who are more experienced.

Read MoreAs I neared the end of the four-week seminar with Emily Harstone on how to submit a manuscript to a publisher or an agent, I realized that I had learned more in just four weeks of daily lessons than I had in almost ten years of trial and error in getting my manuscripts published. What makes the course offered by Emily and Authors Publish so unique is the extensive and personal feedback which she gives each student in the class. Through Emily's professional critique, I was able to turn a ho-hum manuscript into an eye-catching, attention-getting excerpt. Armed with that and a tightly crafted query letter and synopsis, I am confident now that I will be able to find the right publisher for my manuscript.

Read MoreThis was the most helpful course on publishing! It covered aspects of preparing your query letter and synopsis for a publisher that books on the subject had not managed. And it provided clarity on how to look out for the kinds of publishers and how they can impact your future publishing efforts. In a world of ebooks, publishing has changed, though not as much as you might think and this course addressed this nicely.

Read MoreThe one thing I noticed is that there is little information about how to go about getting published. This course gives you insight on how to improve your writing, gives the opportunity to make friends willing to start writing groups, and gives the "secrets" to going about getting your work published. I learned and gained a lot more in this course than I had expected. The critiques received from the instructor and from classmates is invaluable. I feel more confident in editing my work, providing feedback to others, and knowing how to approach journals and where to find them. It is a confidence I didn't have before the course. Thank you!
