Become a Published Author of Flash Fiction

Few people know the literary publishing market the way Ella Peary does. As a long-time literary journal reviewer and editor at Authors Publish, her breadth of knowledge about publishing in literary journals is likely unmatched.

When we asked her to lead a writing and publishing workshop for us, she chose one of her favorite forms of writing: Flash fiction, which is "compressed" fiction, usually shorter than 1,000 words.

Not only is writing flash fiction a wonderful way to hone your skill as a writer, there are also many opportunities to get flash fiction published.

The course is scheduled for May 4th May 29th. It will be held on our digital learning platform, with daily lessons you can complete on your own time.

The course includes:

  • Detailed feedback on your writing from Ella Peary.
  • Personal recommendations for publishers who may be interested in your work.
  • Four weeks of lessons, feedback, and discussion on the art (and joy) of writing flash fiction.

During this course, you will create a polished portfolio of flash fiction that Ella Peary will help you submit to publishers.

By the end of this class, you will have a portfolio flashes ready for publication, and a list of literary journals where you can submit those pieces for publication. Most importantly, you will have developed a sustainable writing practice that will help you produce and publish flash fiction for years to come.

Because of the intense level of personal feedback offered by Ella, this course is strictly limited to thirty students.

This course is the only way to get this level of direct feedback, training, and consultation from Ella Peary. If you are interested, I encourage you to enroll right now.

Build a Portfolio of Polished Writing – And Get It Published

During this course, you will get personal feedback on a portfolio of your writing, and help getting it published. Ella will use her extensive knowledge of the publishing market to help you find the right publishers for your work.

As a long-time literary journal reviewer and editor at Authors Publish, her breadth of knowledge about publishing in literary journals is very extensive, giving her a unique insight into the many publishing opportunities available.

  • Build a writing habit that leads to publication.

  • Get personal feedback on a portfolio of your writing.

  • Personalized help submitting your writing to publishers.

Personal Feedback On Your Writing

In addition to the four weeks of training, Ella Peary is generously offering personal feedback on your writing.

During this course, Ella Peary will give you personal feedback on your writing, so that you will complete this course with a polished portfolio that is ready for publication. (Note that work she has edited has gone on to win major awards.)

Ella Peary will also personally recommend publishers she believes are a good fit for your writing. Her extensive experience as the literary journal editor at Authors Publish gives unparalleled knowledge about the many publishing opportunities available for flash fiction.

The Course Is Limited to 22 Students

Because of the intense level of personal feedback offered by Ella Peary, we are strictly limiting this course to twenty-two students. Once we reach that number, we will immediately close enrollment.

I learned a lot in this fun course! Flash fiction is a very distinctive form, and harder than it looks, given its short form. Ella distills this fiction sub-category down to its essential elements, and gives great examples of how to find and write your flashpoint. A kind, generous and supportive instructor, she offers a specific, hands-on, valuable critique on each piece her students submit. When you are finished, you'll have five flash fiction pieces polished and ready to submit. Go for it, you won't be sorry!

The flash fiction workshop was very good. In only four weeks the high points of developing a publishable flash fiction piece were well presented from the hook to the flashpoint. Editing for wording and presentation were also well presented. Ella, the teacher, did an excellent job of presenting the material as well as answering any questions. It is too bad the class isn't longer to allow for more submissions. All in all in an excellent class. Thank you

This workshop did exactly what it promised. I learned about how to find the flash in a story...which helps with short stories as well as flash fiction! I wrote over a dozen pieces during the workshop, edited older pieces as well and submitted eleven stories to 5 different publishers in the final week. Now that I am familiar with several journals that suit me, I am preparing other stories to be submitted soon. I also learned various technical things, such as how to write a cover letter and a bio, which I had been doing all wrong previously. I set up a spreadsheet for tracking my submissions and learned how to look at rejection. All in all, a WONDERFUL workshop which I feel very fortunate to have discovered at just the right moment in my new writing career. Thanks, Ella! You're a rare diamond!
