Get Five Weeks of Motivation and Inspiration So You Can Make Real Progress On Your Poetry– With Support From Experts and a Vibrant Community of Writers

During this generative course, Emily Harstone and Ella Peary will give you prompts and encouragement to write a poem every day in April. They will also host lively conversations with prestigious poets and editors.

You'll also connect with other poets, and explore real-world paths to publication.

This course includes a full month of community writing events, guest lectures, inspiration, writing prompts, and so much more.

Here’s some of what we’ll be giving you during the course:

  • A full month of poetry prompts and inspiration – so you can build a daily writing practice with support from instructors and peers.
  • Daily craft tips so you can grow your skill as a poet throughout the entire month.
  • Four guest speakers, including editors of prestigious literary journals and renowned poets actively publishing right now.
  • Four generative poetry workshops each week, so you can write and share your poetry in a live group setting. (All hosted online via Zoom.)
  • The opportunity to network with peers and share poems for feedback on the course platform.

Please note, all of the writing prompts, craft tips, guest visitors, and generative workshops are new for this session.

The course includes a multitude of live events, so you can meet other poets, spend time writing and sharing your poetry, and building connections and friendships you can carry with you long after the course is complete

This is a unique chance to become part of a community of established and aspiring writers and make real progress on your writing, with guidance from acclaimed author Emily Harstone, and Ella Peary, a long-time editor at Authors Publish.

This course is for those who want to spend the month writing poetry surrounded by the energy of a strong community, while still getting many opportunities to share your work in a small group. This will allow you to benefit from the energy and activity of a large group, while also building meaningful connections with individual poets.

The workshop officially starts on Monday, March 25th and concludes on Thursday, May 2nd. The workshop includes visits from established poets and editors, live generative poetry workshops, text-based discussion, craft tips, writing prompts, and so much more.

Please Note: The tuition for this course is significantly lower than most of our courses. Most of our workshops cost $575 for four weeks. This course is just $247 for five weeks of expert instruction. That's one more week than our normal courses and $328 less than the tuition for most of our courses.

If you're interested in participating, you are encouraged to sign up right away.

Learn from Ella Peary & Emily Harstone, Write Poetry, and Share it With the Community

At the core of this course are the generative poetry workshops, hosted live via Zoom. During these workshops, you’ll get optional writing prompts, dedicated time to write, and the chance to share your work with a small group of poets.

These workshops will be open to the full community of poets in the course – and will make extensive use of “breakout rooms” so that you can meet in a small group, to share your work, provide feedback, and make connections with other writers.

There will be four generative workshops every week in October. See the calendar below for the full schedule. Note: We’ve scheduled these at a wide variety of times, so that you can find a time that works for your schedule.

Workshop Schedule

Five Weeks of Community, Literary Events, and Focused Writing

This five week course starts on Monday, March 25th and ends on Thursday, May 2nd.

The course is designed to be flexible. We've included a wide variety of meeting times, so you can attend at least one live meeting per week. (In addition to the text-based discussions via the course platform.)

To give you more flexibility, the lectures, guest speakers, Q&A sessions and editor discussions will be recorded and archived. This means you will be able to watch them on your own time, as well as ask follow-up questions via the discussion platform.

This is in addition to the daily writing prompts posted on the website.

Participants will be able to seek support from the community at any point — via text-based discussion, optional live Zoom meetings, or via direct messages to the instructors on our course platform.
