Leap, Shift, Turn:
The Practice of Wildness in Poems

Sunday, September 20th, 2026
Poetry • Online • 3pm to 6pm Eastern Time

You are invited to a one-day live online poetry workshop with Junious "Jay" Ward.

If you’re following your GPS through an unfamiliar area, the last thing you want to hear is “rerouting…” followed by silence. In poems, though, those unexpected detours, those strange moments of unpredictability, often challenge our imagination and deliver us to delightful (or haunting) destinations.

Are these moments truly as anarchic or serendipitous as they feel—or are there ways we can adopt wildness into part of our poetic practice?

In this workshop we’ll explore poems that utilize tools of disruption, and discuss how we can incorporate those tools into our own writing.

Embracing the spirit of Frost, we will set out on a quest to startle the reader and ourselves.

Please note, this is a unique opportunity to attend a live workshop with Junious "Jay" Ward. Space is limited.

The early bird tuition is available until Wednesday, September 16th. For those interested in participating, you’re encouraged to enroll right away.

Join this workshop and get a full month of live poetry workshops for just $164 more.
